While there are many suppressor companies available to choose from, I was introduced to a company while discussing the details of my "quiet killer" build with a friend. He informed me of a company in Montana called Elite Iron that offers several services that most hunters and shooters would appreciate.

Elite Iron is owned and operated by Dale and Kathy Poling. They are both hunters and shooters with an extensive background in both. Dale has an incredible amount of knowledge and experience when it comes to long range and covert shooting. The guy makes my head hurt when talking to him about ballistics and rifle specs and the only thing more impressive than their products and knowledge is their customer service. They are absolutely hands on and personally involved on every build.

Their suppressors are custom built to either line the baffles up at the 12 o'clock position on your pre-threaded barrel or thread your barrel likewise to reduce any horizontal impact differences between shooting with and without the can attached. In laymen's terms, it will either hit perfect zero, high, or low, but will not change the impact to the left or right when you attach the suppressor. (This is a result of the change in barrel harmonics, not bullet velocity.) As an added benefit, they thread the barrel and then re-cut the crown to precision, which would make any bench rest shooter proud. It gets better, the cap that they build for the threading keeps the crown recessed and protected to where, I will never have to worry about damaging my crown again.

I have had the pleasure of introducing many friends to the world of hunting coyotes with suppressors, and have no intention of going back. I can now make more stands for calling in a smaller area, and often call in more coyotes, after shooting, in a single stand. With a reduction of about 35 decibels, I can also confirm impact much better since I don't have to deal with the muzzle blast and ringing in my ear. The other wildlife and livestock in the areas are calmer and everyone in the group usually experiences a much more enjoyable hunting and shooting experience.
